Safety Center
GARBAJodi connects people who don’t know each other yet. These tools and habits help — but no app can guarantee anyone’s safety or behaviour, and we don’t run identity or background checks.
Before you meet
- Chat in GARBAJodi first. Chat only opens after both of you agree.
- Meet at the event: the entrance, a gate, the food court or the dance floor. Never at someone’s home.
- Tell a friend where you’re going and who you’re meeting. Go together with friends if you can.
- Don’t share your home address, documents, bank or UPI details, or live location.
At the event
- Stay within the event premises and arrange your own transport.
- Trust your instincts — it’s fine to leave at any time, without explaining.
- In an emergency, call 112. For women in distress: 181. Cyber crime: 1930 or cybercrime.gov.in.
What the badges mean
- Email verified — the person confirmed they control their email address.
- College verified — the person confirmed an email address at the college they listed.
Neither badge confirms identity, age, character or safety.
Tools
- Block stops someone from seeing your plans and profile, sending you interest or messaging you.
- Report sends a confidential report to moderators. Reports of intimate images, sexual content, minors or impersonation are prioritised, and the content is hidden while it is reviewed.
- Grievance Officer — for anyone, including people without an account.
